SOTD: Grace Potter and the Nocturnal’s “Medicine”
The first time I saw GPN they opened for the Black Crowes at the Orbit Room in Grand Rapids, in the fall of 2008. I was totally hooked and remember saying to friends something along the lines of “Holy shit, Black Crowes better bring it, cause GPN just stole the show.” Thankfully the Crowes played a killer set and it turned out to be an all around amazing night. I saw them for the second time at Rothbury in 2009 and in less than 3 weeks I’m finally going to get to see them for the third time when they play the second to last set closing Mountain Jam in NY. This time they’ll be right before My Morning Jacket. How killer is that. I can’t even tell you how excited I am.
This song is off their first major label release, self titled. Their label re-released the previous album, “This Is Somewhere” also.
